It was great seeing everyone's costumes and hearing stories about Trick or Treating when everyone came back Thursday morning. Students had a blast visiting at Salem Manor and the afternoon was spent with Mrs. Tiessen making egg carton spiders that we got to race with straws.
Language Arts
Students worked this week on a spooky story. We used adjectives from our Monsters Wanted posters and turned them into spooky stories.
Math
We continued to work on place value. Students are becoming comfortable recognizing hundreds, tens, and ones placement. We also compared numbers. We learned that a two digit number is ALWAYS smaller than a three digit number even if it looks like the first number is bigger.
Social Studies
We are wrapping up our unit on Peru and will be having a test on Tuesday, November 7th.

Last week we learned all about the different types of soil. We are finishing up our flipbook that explains that there are four layers of soil (humus, topsoil, subsoil and bedrock). This is our last activity in the rocks and minerals unit. Next we will be exploring hearing and sound!
