What a great way to start Monday  morning. Kainen was very excited to share with us a fountain he made on the weekend with his Papa.

Swimming

Just a reminder that we kick off our swimming lessons on Thursday, April 19. Please make sure you send your child with their bathing suit as well as a towel. 

Celebration of the Arts 

We enjoyed many activities this week. One of our activities was an art walk. Here are some of our students standing in front of Taj Mahal art we made with Ms. Handley.

Language Arts

This last week we have been focusing a lot on our reading and writing. We have spent time reading independently, reading and listening to a friend read, as well as listening to stories on our chrome books. Students have also enjoyed writing in their journals telling me about their Spring Break and have also had some free writing time where they get to pick the topic.

Math
This is an exciting time for students as we start our unit on multiplication. We have learned that multiplying is the same as adding groups together. We have been practicing counting by 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Social
This week has been focused on learning about India's environment and climate and comparing it to Canada's. We've learned a lot about how people adapt to their environments.

Science
Our Building unit is going great! Students made some great gift boxes last week. This week, we have been focusing on our teamwork and cooperation skills and made models of animals that can balance on their legs. Ask your child about what they needed to do to make sure their animal balanced!
